Sachin and Dravid are among the members of the Indian team who left for Australia before team's official departure, for preparing well for the tour.

Super Sehwag proves there's nothing in a cricket field he couldn't do...!!!

"Nawab of najafgarh" Virender Sehwag becomes only the second batsman after Sachin Tendulkar in ODIs to score a double-century.
It took nearly four decades for a batsman to score the first double-century in one-day international cricket but less than two years for the second. Virender Sehwag, the batsman most touted to break Sachin Tendulkar's record for the highest individual ODI score, didn't merely break it - he shattered it and raised the bar so high that it's hard to imagine anyone, apart from Sehwag himself, raising it higher..

Very unlike as Tendulkar in Gwalior last year , Sehwag wasn't running out of time as he raced towards 200 in Indore. He got there in the 44th over and had made 219 off 149 balls by the time he was dismissed in the 47th. And in one of cricket's stranger coincidences, both ODI double-centuries were scored in the same Indian state - Madhya Pradesh - at venues less than 500 kilometres apart.
Sehwag's performance led India to 418 for 5, their highest ODI total, and sealed victory in the five-match series against West Indies. It was an innings characteristic of Sehwag's approach to batting. He hit his second ball for four and simply did not stop. He took plenty of risks too, surviving two run-out chances and two dropped catches, but thundered on, ensuring India's run-rate stayed above seven after the 15th over. Sehwag's only out-of-character moment came in the 20th over, when he dived to avoid being run out. Sehwag never dives. It was a sign that he was determined to stay the course. He went to 50 off 41 balls, to 100 off 69 balls, to 150 off 112 and past 200 off 140. The record was broken with a withering cut that sped to the backward-point boundary, and he celebrated with an aggressive fist-pump before breaking into a smile.

Team Angles of sport wishes Virender Sehwag and we hope there's much more of this kind to come again and again to entertain the cricket fans.
As the Series is been won we can see irfan pathan getting a chance in the last odi. Then Indian batting will be much stronger. Only question is will Irfan makes this platform to make his comeback to the International arena we have to wait and watch.

Yuvraj Singh suffering from a lung tumour

Yuvraj Singh has a "non-malignant tumour" in his left lung and that is the reason why the flamboyant left-hander has opted out of the upcoming ODI series against West Indies.
The Punjab all rounder, whose vital contribution in World cup brought victory to us. Yuvraj himself had asked the BCCI not to consider him for selection for the ODI series against West Indies because he has been recovering from what his family has called an "illness that threatened his career," caused by an "abnormal tumour" on his lung. The tumour has been found, after tests, to be non-malignant.
According to a statement released by his mother, Shabnam Singh, Just a few weeks after winning the World Cup, its man of the tournament - Yuvraj Singh - was diagnosed with 'lung cancer'. Yuvraj had been troubled by bouts of coughing and vomitting during the 2011 World Cup but had ignored the problem during the tournament, "assuming it was due to stress."
When the problem persisted after the World Cup, Yuvraj sought medical advice and tests revealed "a golf-ball sized" growth on his left lung, the statement said. Initial reports had suggested that Yuvraj "had what in medical terms is called an abnormal tumor called lymphoma. The danger was, we were told, that it could be malignant."
Early medical treatment and therapy led to Yuvraj feeling better than he did during the World Cup and he "was eager to resume his India duties." However, after returning from the tour of England due to a finger injury sustained during the Nottingham Test, Yuvraj went through several rounds of tests, scans and a recent biopsy in order to ascertain the exact nature of the tumour. "Further reports have indicated that the tumour is non-malignant and non-threatening and can be treated through proper medication and therapy. In medical terms, Yuvraj is now in a much better state and on his way to a full recovery."
Yuvraj had informed the BCCI president N Srinivasan of the findings and wanted to regain his fitness. It was why he had "sought some more time ... and asked not to be considered for selection in the one-dayers versus West Indies."
In the statement Yuvraj's mother said he "did not want to rush things, wants to be 100% fit before resuming his cricket for India and has started working hard on both his fitness and his cricket. He is already preparing himself to play the one-day series in Australia."

Team Angles of sport will pray god that our Yuvi get well soon, and start performing for Team India. Many more of 6 sixes is yet to come from the dashing Yuvi's blade.
Get Well Soon Yuvi.

Pragyan Ojha the new sensation in Indian Spin bowling

During the current Ind Vs WI tests, ojha has made himself a big appraisal in terms of the skills and development to his bowling. He has forgotten the past and stood tall to prove himself. He has delivered when needed and he has got much variety into his bowling. He recent instinct with Surrey in county has helped him.

During a press release he said "I learnt a lot from the short stint. It was a learning experience. The English are very professional and you have to be the same, if you want to adjust there soon. Playing there, I have learnt a lot, including discipline and sincerity. It was a delightful experience,”.

Here is the complete details of this orissa borned cricketer who came into lime light after his wonderful performance in IPL first season. There after he has never looked back
Pragyan Prayash Ojha born on September 5, 1986 in Bhubaneshwar, Orissa. He is an ace left-arm off spinner who has represented India at various district and state levels.

This young tweaker has high-octane first class statistics that stand to prove his worth as an agile off spinner. Pragyan Ojha started his cricketing career from Sahid Sporting club in Bhubaneshwar. He played in the U-15 interstate cricket tournament organized by the Orissa Cricket Association. He went to Hyderabad in the year 2000 for his studies and from then on he is a regular player of the Hyderabad Ranji team.

Ojha has also represented India U-19 and has played against Zimbabwe and Kenya. In the Kenya tour alone, he claimed 22 wickets in the 3-days match.

His determined performances at the domestic circuit lead the way to his entry into the Deccan Chargers squad at the IPL. He emerged from the inaugural T20 tournament with 11 wickets under his sleeve. Ojha was one of those stand-outs from his otherwise lackluster team at the IPL owing to his splendid performance. He was picked up by the national selectors who handed him his blue Jersey for India's upcoming Triangular series tour of Bangladesh and the subsequent 2008 Asia Cup to be played in Pakistan. He played his debut game against Bangladesh in the second of those two tournaments and he finished with impressive figures of 2 for 43.

Later in the year, he received a maiden Test call-up against Sri Lanka at Kanpur, a spot he retained for two Tests, largely owing to some tight, disciplined bowling. As with most young Indian bowlers, Ojha is largely used in an around the sub-continent and gains little international exposure as a result. He remains the only left-hander among other youngsters looking to partner Harbhajan Singh, and new star R.Ashwin while filling in the void left by India’s greatest spinner Anil Kumble.

Fast Facts

In 2006-2007, Pragyan Ojha ended the Ranji season with 29 wickets from just 6 matches at an average of 19.89.
He is one of the few bowlers who picked up four-wicket hauls in all three formats of the game.

Personal Life
Pragyan Ojha tied nuptial knot with Oriya girl Karabi Baral on 17 May 2010. The marriage was held with complete Oriya traditions, customs and rituals.Marriage was held at a Bhubaneswar based hotel Mayfair.

Team Angles of Sport wishes Ojha all the best in his Long Cricketing Career.
We hope he plays more and more tests matches for India and get much more wickets

Ravichandran Ashwin ignites the new fragrance of spin bowling.

Ravichandran Ashwin is the man who is creating all the Buzz around in the cricketing fraternity due to his wonderful bowling in the tests against West Indies. He has created a record of scoring 100 and getting a five wicket haul in the same test match which is still on. he may continue to make more records in this very test match.

Recently he got married to his childhood friend Preethi Narayanan. Team Angles of sport wishes Ravichandran ashwin a happy married life and wishes him all the success in the future tours.

To know completely about Ashwin. Read the entire article which contains every details about him.
Ravichandran Ashwin was born in the year 1986 September 17. Ashwin was born at Madras, Tamil Nadu, India. His carrom ball is very famous. He is the second bowler after Mendis to bowl a carrom ball. His nick name is Dada. Ashwin is a right handed bowler and a right handed batsman. He has not yet played a test match for India. His one day debut was against Sri Lanka on 5th June 2010.

Ravichandran Ashwin Who is popularly known as R. Ashwin came to fame during 2010 IPL when M.S. Dhoni threw him the ball to bowl in power play overs. He showed tremendous nerve and not only contained the flow of runs but also took crucial wickets. He was also the highest wicket taker in Champions league T20 2010 where Chennai Super kings won. Since then he has never looked back. Currently he is a member of Indian national cricket team, and also Tamilnadu cricket team. He is a right-handed batsman and right arm off-break bowler.

A tall offspinner who bowls with a high-arm action and is studying to be an engineer, R Ashwin has some uncanny similarities with S Venkataraghavan, but for the moment the comparison should end there. Ashwin is taking his first steps in Ranji Trophy cricket. He made big strides in his debut season in 2006-07, leading the wickets tally for Tamil Nadu with 31 scalps at under 20. He was impressive the following the season with both bat and ball before a wrist injury unfortunately forced him out for four weeks in the middle of the season. He later made it to the Chennai Super Kings squad in the inaugural Indian Premier League. Ashwin continued to perform consistently at the domestic level, earning a Grade D contract by the BCCI, and under his captaincy Tamil Nadu were crowned Indian domestic one-day champions in 2009. He earned his first call-up for India, for the home ODIs against South Africa in early 2010, after Harbhajan Singh opted out of the first couple of games due to personal commitments. He was a revelation in the IPL with his miserly spells with the new ball, conceding only 6.10 runs per over and taking 13 wickets. He followed that with a near-spotless performance in the 2010 Champions League where his Man-of-the-Series performance helped Chennai lift the big prize. Ashwin's growing confidence and widening repertoire of tricks will keep him in the frame for a consistent run for India in the shorter formats.
Later, in that month he was selected in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 squad to represent India along with the spinners Harbhajan Singh and Piyush Chawla. He played 2 matches for India in that series. He made his World Cup debut on 20 March 2011 against the West Indies with bowling figures of 10-0-41-2. He played his second world cup match against Australia in the second quarter final at Ahmadabad (10-1-52-2).
In November, 2011, he made his Test debut along with Umesh Yadav against West Indies with impressive figures of 27-4-81-3 in the 1st innings and 21.3-5-47-6 in the 2nd innings. His magical spell of 9 wickets is the second best by an Indian test cricketer on debut after Narendra Hirwani. He was also awarded the Man of the Match (MoM) on debut for his bowling exploits, only the third Indian cricketer after Pravin Amre and R.P. Singh to do so.

Some common Facts about R Ashwin

* Ravichandran Ashwin was Chennai Super Kings' second highest wicket-taker in the 2010 season of the IPL.
* Under his captaincy, Tamil Nadu won the 'Domestic One Day Championship' in 2009.
* Ashwin was the highest wicket-taker (13) in 2010 CLT20 and was adjudged 'Player of the Tournament'.
* In his first 29 first-class matches, he took 5-wkt hauls eight times and 10-wkt hauls twice.

Records
Ravichandran Ashwin became the third Indian Cricketer to score a ton and take five wickets in same test match, in his 3rd test he made 103 runs (15 fours and 2 sixes) and top scored in the Indian innings, he also took 5 wickets giving 156 runs in 52.1 overs before him Indian Cricketer MH Mankad scored 184 Runs and took 5 Wickets by giving 196 Runs against England at Lord's on 19 Jun 1952 and PR Umrigar not out who scored 172* Runs and took 5 wickets by giving just 107 Runs against West Indies at Port of Spain on 4 Apr 1962. Very Very special Laxman's 15 years of cricket career

VVS Laxman (Vangipurapu Venkata Sai Laxman) or Very Very Special as his fans describe, completes his 15 years of International debut in cricket for India. One of the most reliable and talented test cricketer for India in the recent times, Laxman made his Test debut in 1996, scoring a fifty against South Africa at Ahmedabad. Here is a collection of his 15 most remembered innings for India.

Key Attributes
Laxman is a right handed batsman and is famous for hitting spin bowlers mercilessly and maneuvering the ball with ample use of his wrists to the desired corner of the ground. Interestingly, Laxman has delivered his best performance for a maximum number of times against the Australian Cricket team both in Test and ODI matches.

Early Life

V.V.S. Laxman was born on the 1st of November 1974 in Hyderabad, Andhra Prdesh. Both of his parents are doctors, and he too studied Medical Science for a short period of time but quit it later to play professional Cricket in a full fledged way. He received his preliminary education at Little Flower High School, Hyderabad

Vital Statistics
The beginning of Laxman’s Test Cricket career was made in the year 1996 with a Test match against South Africa played at Ahmedabad. Since the year 1997, he had to change his position in the batting line-up and began to open the innings now.

In a Cricket tour of Australia in January 2000, he scored 167 runs. He found the opening position in the batting line-up not being favorable to him, so he gave up international cricket and returned to domestic cricket again. He stayed out of the Test team for almost an year, and joined again in the later phase of the year 2000. Laxman is not considered to be quite a good runner between the wickets, and has not played in the Cricket World Cup despite having played 100 Test matches.

Throughout his Test Cricket career till now, V.V.S. Laxman has played 105 Test matches and scored 6741 runs including 14 centuries and 39 half-centuries. He had a Batting Average of 45.24 runs with his highest score being 281 runs.

In his One Day International (ODI) Cricket career, Laxman played 86 matches and scored a total of 2338 runs including 6 centuries and 10 half-centuries. His ODI Batting Average was 30.76 runs, with the highest score being 131 runs.

In the Test Match Series played against New Zealand in March-April 2009, V.V.S. Laxman scored a total of 295 runs in the Series, with 30, 200 and 65 runs scored in the 3 matches respectively.

Interestingly he made his debut in One Day International (ODI) Cricket with a duck (zero score) in a match against Zimbabwe in the year 1998, and finished his ODI career again with a duck in a match against South Africa in the year 2006.

His famous contributions to team India are illustrated below

1) 51 against South Africa in Ahmedabad (1996 November 20)
In his debut match against South Africa he scored only 11 runs in the first innings.  But in the second innings of that low scoring match, he scored 51 (125) and helped India to reach 190 runs.  Including Laxman’s 50, only two half centuries were there in the whole test match. Chasing a target of 170, SA all out at 105, by a fiery spell by Srinath who took 6 wickets.  Laxman began the saviour of pressure situations from his debut match itself.
2) 167 against Australia in Sydney (2000)
His linking for the Aussies attack started in Sydney where he notched up his first Test century in a losing cause. Opening the batting against the bowling line up of Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee and Shane Warne at their best, he pulled and cut anything short with impunity, combined with his graceful drives.

3) 281 against Australia in Kolkata (2001)
Wisden rated it as the 4th best innings of all time. A knock that spanned 10 hours 31 minutes not only took India to victory but also to the record books for being only the third team to win a Test after being asked to follow on.  In the first innings, he was the last man out scoring 59 (83) spending 122 minutes and in the same day he started his second innings.

5) 148 against Australia in Adelaide (2003)
India were 85-4 when the pair of Laxman and Dravid once again stood up to the Aussies and helped India record a famous win Down Under. They added 303 runs for the fifth wicket. , which was their first Test victory in Australia in two decades

Chasing NZ’s 630, India were all out at 424..Laxman remain unbeaten at 104.  Following on and India were at 18-3 in 12.5 overs. Laxman and Chopra helped India to end at 128-4 in 59.3 overs.  Laxman again unbeaten at 67.  Match drawn.
7) 178 against Australia in Sydney (2004)
India’s huge total of 705/7 was rich with centuries and half centuries.  But that was from a score of 194/3, when Laxman came and put 178 to reach at 547/4 when he was out.  Match draw.

11) 143 * against South Africa at Kolkata (2010)
His knock helped to take a huge lead (347) against South Africa and posted to India’s victory by innings and leveled the series 1-1.
12) 103* against Sri Lanka in Colombo (2010)
Chasing a fourth innings target of 258, India were 62-4 when Laxman, hindered by back spasm, walked in and waxed lyrical. The batsman’s silken touch and inner steel negotiated the turning track and his own physical battle to take India to an improbable win.
13) 73* against Australia in Mohali (2010)
Chasing 216 in the fourth innings, this knock displayed the maturity of VVS Laxman in shepherding the tailenders while chasing down a tough target under tremendous pressure.
Laxman was suffering with a back problem and needed Suresh Raina as his runner.  India were trouble at 124/8. Laxman helped India to a thrilling one-wicket victory with Ishant 31(92) and Ojha 5(10).  He batted at No.10 in the first innings due to injury.
