Virat Kohli, the future of Indian Cricket



Virat Kohli is the man who is getting much of the attention in the public media these days. He has become the consistent cricketer for India in the limited overs format. He has got a chance to cement his place in Indian Test Team against West Indies in the ongoing test at Mumbai.

Basically Virat Kohli is a fearsome cricketer.  He is the middle order batsman who can also open the innings. Virat is one on the best fielder in the Indian squad. He bats right handed and ball his medium pace with his right hand.
Virat came to lime light when he scored 90 runs to save Delhi from follow on in the match against Karnataka on December 19 2006. On the same date his father had passed away at 3 in the morning due to brain Stroke. His innings of 90 runs was termed “Very Crucial” by his captain Mitthun Manhas.
Virat was included in Delhi Ranji team on 23rd November 2006.  Kohli first match was against Tamil Nadu. In domestic arena he played his first T 20 match against Himachal Pradesh at Delhi on April 3 2007
 


He was the captain of the Indian under 19 Cricket World Cup team. The world cup was held in Malaysia in the year 2008. India under 19 team won that world cup, and Virat was a instrumental in that victory as a captain. Virat is also part of Royal Challengers Bangalore since 2008. He was one of player which Royal challenger Bangalore retained in second auctioned.
Kohli has been a member of the Indian cricket team for ODIs since 18 August 2008 against Sri Lanka, and was included in the Test squad for the first time 2010/2011 series of West Indies.
Virat Kholi played his first T 20 international match against Zimbabwe at Harare cricket ground on June 12 2010.

Virat kohli was born on 5th November 1988 to Prem Kohli ( His father) and Saroj Kohli ( His mother ) at Delhi. He is now 22 and his height is 5 ft 9 inches. He weighs around 65 kilos.
He grew up at Delhi and Studied in ST SOFIA school in paschim vihar, Delhi. Virat lived in Uttam Nagar in Delhi and got his initial cricket training in West Delhi cricket academy, since 1998. He also used to play matches for Sumit Dogra Academy in Vasundhara Enclave near Noida.

Virat Kohli’s  role model is Herschelle Gibbs of South Africa. He is only player in recent One day squad to have a tattoo on his body.
