Pragyan Ojha the new sensation in Indian Spin bowling

During the current Ind Vs WI tests, ojha has made himself a big appraisal in terms of the skills and development to his bowling. He has forgotten the past and stood tall to prove himself. He has delivered when needed and he has got much variety into his bowling. He recent instinct with Surrey in county has helped him.

During a press release he said "I learnt a lot from the short stint. It was a learning experience. The English are very professional and you have to be the same, if you want to adjust there soon. Playing there, I have learnt a lot, including discipline and sincerity. It was a delightful experience,”.

Here is the complete details of this orissa borned cricketer who came into lime light after his wonderful performance in IPL first season. There after he has never looked back
Pragyan Prayash Ojha born on September 5, 1986 in Bhubaneshwar, Orissa. He is an ace left-arm off spinner who has represented India at various district and state levels.

This young tweaker has high-octane first class statistics that stand to prove his worth as an agile off spinner. Pragyan Ojha started his cricketing career from Sahid Sporting club in Bhubaneshwar. He played in the U-15 interstate cricket tournament organized by the Orissa Cricket Association. He went to Hyderabad in the year 2000 for his studies and from then on he is a regular player of the Hyderabad Ranji team.

Ojha has also represented India U-19 and has played against Zimbabwe and Kenya. In the Kenya tour alone, he claimed 22 wickets in the 3-days match.

His determined performances at the domestic circuit lead the way to his entry into the Deccan Chargers squad at the IPL. He emerged from the inaugural T20 tournament with 11 wickets under his sleeve. Ojha was one of those stand-outs from his otherwise lackluster team at the IPL owing to his splendid performance. He was picked up by the national selectors who handed him his blue Jersey for India's upcoming Triangular series tour of Bangladesh and the subsequent 2008 Asia Cup to be played in Pakistan. He played his debut game against Bangladesh in the second of those two tournaments and he finished with impressive figures of 2 for 43.

Later in the year, he received a maiden Test call-up against Sri Lanka at Kanpur, a spot he retained for two Tests, largely owing to some tight, disciplined bowling. As with most young Indian bowlers, Ojha is largely used in an around the sub-continent and gains little international exposure as a result. He remains the only left-hander among other youngsters looking to partner Harbhajan Singh, and new star R.Ashwin while filling in the void left by India’s greatest spinner Anil Kumble.

Fast Facts

In 2006-2007, Pragyan Ojha ended the Ranji season with 29 wickets from just 6 matches at an average of 19.89.
He is one of the few bowlers who picked up four-wicket hauls in all three formats of the game.

Personal Life
Pragyan Ojha tied nuptial knot with Oriya girl Karabi Baral on 17 May 2010. The marriage was held with complete Oriya traditions, customs and rituals.Marriage was held at a Bhubaneswar based hotel Mayfair.
